In 2015, the Descalzo Matos family turned a dream into reality: founding Bodegas La Granadilla. For over two decades, five siblings have dedicated their lives to cultivating vineyards in the lands of Nava del Rey and Villaverde de Medina, creating wines that embody the essence of the Rueda Denomination of Origin.

Our Essence

O u r L a n d

Our vineyards are located between 700 and 800 meters in altitude, on stony soils rich in calcium and magnesium, which allow for good aeration. These soil characteristics, combined with a continental Mediterranean climate with significant day-to-night temperature differences, result in fresh profiles that are balanced in both sugar and acidity.

Bodegas-Lagranadilla-metodos-modernos

As part of the agricultural industry, we are fully dependent on our surroundings, just as they are dependent on us. This is why we grow our produce organically and sustainably. Over the past decades, the winery’s carbon footprint has been positive, which is something we are truly proud of.
